Exploring Identity Through Imagined Worlds.
The Feminine Divine is an ongoing project that began in 2010, exploring women's issues, identity, and the challenges of everyday life through imagined worlds.
This body of work delves into women's issues through self-portraits, where I explore the concepts of self-reflection and character building. These pieces serve as a mirror to my life and environment, capturing my thoughts and shadows during this period.
As I established myself in a new place, the colors in my work shifted from earthy tones to brighter shades of blue and white, symbolizing the newfound sense of freedom and happiness in my surroundings. The birth of my daughter brought a vibrant spectrum of colors into my life and art, making my work more lively and full of energy.
These pieces serve as a mirror to my life and environment, capturing my thoughts and shadows during this period.
To express myself, I sometimes use human figures, bottles, or birds, often avoiding faces or realistic details to achieve a more expressive and soothing approach.
I have lived through injustice, war, dictatorship, and revolution, which has given me a unique perspective on the world.
Walking on the streets, spending time at home, or holding my children's hands, I feel the turbulence of today's unsettled world. This perspective informs my work in The Feminine Divine, where I explore themes of personal and collective struggle, resilience, and the quest for identity and belonging and look for a peaceful place to live.
